I did not get a chance to see the opening matches v Bestikas and Man Utd, but the results of the B1 are certainly encouraging, epecially following the results of the older boys at the NextGen series! If managed properly, the future looks bright.

Do you live in Holland, or do you follow Ajax from abroad jonmroz?

Although the results may look good, in general, most Ajax fans expect more from Ajax B1. We really like the number 10 of ManU for example. Those are the types of players we would like to see at Ajax. The team has performed well of Ajax B1, however, what we are looking for are the individuals that could take Ajax back to Europe's best squads one day in the future. That is what has made the brand Ajax to what it once was. Comparing Ajax B1 to that objective, I guess most of us have been a little disappointed today despite the team results.

I am an American in the USA that follows Ajax as closely as possible. I am a coach and have been coming to the Netherlands yearly since 2005 to study the game and take coach education courses.

I believe I have a good guage of the quality desired, but don't know much about this batch of players at the B1 level for Ajax.

I did watch the Futurecup final against Man Utd; and no one really excited me...I am witholding judgment and deferring to those of you who get to see the youth more regularly.

Any positives we can find in this year on board turmoil is cause for celebration, from where I sit.

I have read some books of KNVB, such as 'Teambuilding - The road to success', 'Match Analysis and Game Preparation' etc. I think you must have read them.

The general opinion here is that the B1 isn't that astonishing, just as you say. The A1 is considered much more talented.

Thank you all for the welcomes and the info. Typically I only get to see highlights of the youth, so I appreciated the opportunity to see some live matches recently.

I have read each and every Dutch coaching book available in English...I have also been working on my Dutch for a while! I have also had a subscription to "Soccer Coaching International" since thir first issue... An English language coaching magazine fom the Netherlands.

I usually travel to the Netherlands some time each spring, but too busy this year. Getting by with my tv and computer only! Sure makes it enjoyable to watch the form of the first team lately!

I don't know that magazine... I only know "De Voetbaltrainer" in Dutch.
